The McKittrick Hotel

The McKittrick Hotel

About

The premier destination for out-of-this-world entertainment.

Completed in 1939, The McKittrick Hotel was intended to be New York City’s finest and most decadent luxury hotel of its time. Six weeks before opening, and two days after the outbreak of World War II, the legendary hotel was condemned and left locked, permanently sealed from the public. Until now…

From 2011-2025, Emursive brought the Grande Dame back to life. Collaborating with London’s award-winning Punchdrunk, the legendary space was reinvented with Sleep No More, presenting Shakespeare’s classic Scottish tragedy through the lens of suspenseful film noir. That was not all she had to offer.

The McKittrick Hotel offered a variety of enchanting experiences. Guests escaped to Gallow Green, a hidden rooftop oasis where lush greenery and whimsical charm created a serene retreat from the city. Patrons stepped inside the Manderley Bar, where intimate live jazz performances by the resident band, The Nightingales, filled the air each evening. The Club Car served as a venue for unique dining, live music, and immersive entertainment inside the hotel. The McKittrick’s doors closed officially on January 11th, 2025. May we “meet again” in Manderley in our dreams, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow…
